Figure 14 : The spots seen in figure 13 have been focussed. The flush gas tube sits in the 5 mm hole of the cover glass plate connected through an 5 mm PTFE tube piece. This tube does NOT touch the stationary phase layer but keeps a 1 mm distance from the layer surface. A short piece of plastic tube over the PTFE tube takes care, that the gas flush flows unhindered into the volume of the virtual TLC chamber.
