Figure 5 : This is the complete set of parts taken for qualitative and compare analyses
In the white board above there are four hollows to see. They position the feet of the camera chamber as seen in figure 6. On the right side is a cover glass with 4 concentric holes used for simultaneous multiphase separations as shown in figure ##. On the left side is the aquarium pump which delivers the 2 L/min flush gas for drying the plate above. There is a one sample circular chromatogram. The three aluminium rods below the chromatogram offer a very accurate positioning of the HPTLC plate. Its position is then kept stable by a piece of adhesive tape (paper) which is in addition used to hold the analytical code. It is a good idea, to use this concept: two digits for the year (09), two for the month (03), six for the day, hour and minute (251354) and three alpha characters for the story “9 W” (what, how, where, when, for whom, how much, which phases, what details, what else). This code is stored in an intelligent data base. There is all room available to optimize the minimum necessary paper work for top laboratory organization.
Including even the minute in the analytical job code makes possible to identify the specific working place in case several PLC runs go parallel.
The three already mentioned aluminium rods allow to position the cover glass plate and with this the focussing capillary into the plate center by +- 0.1 mm in X and Y position. This position precision is also needed for the  mobile phase wick. This includes best conditions for A possible series of mobile phases in multi development runs.
The forth aluminium rod right side of the PLC cover glass is the cover glass handle. It is connected to the glass surface by a UV active glue. Top quality UV glues make such a strong connection that the glass would brake earlier than the metal handle breaks off.
