The only real measure of the separation efficiency is the TRENNZAHL, a number - see above. The best possible Trennzahl we could get by focussed circular chromatography reached 50. That means: 50 peaks, bows, circles could be baseline separated on one plate. This is comparable to what a good HPLC column of 100 mm length can reach under optimized conditions.
