plate structure signals - see right on figure 41 - and the plate gradients - see left on figure 41 the standard TLC / HPTLC needs many repetitions of the same sample on differing tracks. µ-PLC techniques offer the compare areas in which  chemistry, the physics (this includes any gradient effect) and the time are absolutely equal for two neighbored and partially overlapped samples. Therefore even at N=1(means one only) chromatogram offers 100 % save results in case the overlapped samples differ detectably. See here.
